Bethlehem in Hlinsko is an urban set of wooden buildings. It is located in the historical town center. The original inhabitants of Bethlehem were potters and weavers who built here their houses. It happened in the mid of 18th century. Timbered houses have been one room, a hall with a "black" kitchen and storage room. Shingle roofs are most of them. Brick houses are here since the early 19th century. In 1995 Bethlehem have declared a monument reserve of folk architecture. Bethlehem is a significant exposure complex of Folk Architecture Vysočina. During the 20 century had begun sadder history of Bethlehem. People moved into the modern houses. The houses remained empty, decayed and gradually disappeared. His rescue began in the 90th years. Preservation staff to did this. In early 1989 the institutions agreed on the central part of the rescue of Bethlehem. Local reservation of folk architecture will have after completion 12 buildings. There are nine now. Visitors will have entry to all homes. Bethlehem is the most important monument of Hlinsko. You should visit it and see how life was in the past and pre-past century. Adameks folk festivals are there every year. They are held in the middle of the Bethlehem.
